The New York University Law Review is accepting submissions for an upcoming Special Online Issue on Academic Freedom.

We believe academic freedom to publish thought-provoking scholarship is a foundational right at the heart of legal academia, and we strive to publish pieces that honor that right. No topic should be off-limits to legal scholarship. At a time of great engagement of speech across law school campuses about issues of international importance, legal scholarship must elect to engage with even the most politically charged topics.

In this spirit, we are calling for submissions of pieces that discuss academic freedom. We invite submissions in the form of short-form, essay-style writings of up to 5,000 words on the topics of academic freedom, censorship, and the First Amendment.

We will consider: (1) manuscripts of up to 5,000 words for publication as Forum pieces in the New York University Law Review Online; (2) proposals of up to 500 words.

Please use this form to submit manuscripts and proposals.
